About Us

In 2000, Ci Tian Temple purchased the existing garden house at 34, Jalan Pelanduk 5, Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, to be used as a Buddhist temple.

In 2015, Ci Tian Temple officially received registration approval from the Registrar of Societies and also formally applied to become a member of the Malaysian Buddhist Association and the Johor Chinese Registered Temples Association.

Subsequently, due to the temple's religious activities deemed disturbing the lives of local residents, the city council took action against it for operating a temple from a residence. Hence CiTianSi would require to look for a new ground.

In 2015, with the assistance of a then-MCA city councilor, the temple formally applied to the authorities for Lot 212885, Taman Scientex, Pasir Gudang, as its land. The land area is 11,000 square feet, for a three-story temple building with a building area of 88 feet long and 35 feet wide.
Under the leadership of its founder, Co-Founder Farong, the Masai CiTianSi Temple broke ground on December 27, 1998, and was completed in just 10 months, at a total cost of over RM2.5 million.

Prior to this, the temple held a groundbreaking ceremony on November 4, 1998, began laying the foundation on December 27 of the same year, and was completed on November 10, 2019.

This temple, with a building area of approximately 10,000 square feet, is a three-story Buddhist and Taoist complex. The first floor houses the Taoist section, with a Hindu worship area in front; the second floor is the Guanyin Bodhisattva Hall; and the third floor is the Buddhist Mahavira Hall.

The Mahavira Hall enshrines the Three Sages of the Avatamsaka Sutra, with the Three Western Sages at the rear, as well as the Eighteen Arhats.

The founder of the Mashin Citian Temple, Layman Fa Rong, revealed that the temple's board members obtained a decree from the Jade Emperor at the Jade Emperor Peak of Mount Tai in China, requesting it to be brought back to the Taizu Temple on the first floor of the temple to preside over its ancestral temple.

He pointed out that the first floor of the temple is the Taizu Temple, with the main deities enshrined in the center being Laozi, Wang Xianshi, the Big Dipper Star Lord, Ji Gong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, and numerous other deities.

He said that the most important deity in this hall is the Jade Emperor, and the throne placed there is the Jade Emperor's dragon throne. This throne was requested by the Bodhisattva, and the board members went to the Jade Emperor Peak of Mount Tai in China to obtain a decree to bring it back to the Taizu Temple on the first floor of the Citian Temple in Malaysia to preside over its ancestral temple.

“Generally, other temples have a golden statue of the Jade Emperor, but this temple does not. The main purpose is for believers to worship. Upon entering the temple, one can see the Jade Emperor bestowing blessings from the Heavenly Palace overhead, and a Jade Emperor banner canopy is also visible above.”

Fa Rong continued, saying that the temple places the golden statue of the Jade Emperor on the altar, and the jade dragon throne in front of the altar, allowing the public to worship and circumambulate it for good fortune.

Behind the new site of Mashen Citian Temple, there is a Jade Dragon Well. This well is protected by the Dragon King of the East Sea, and features yellow, white, green, red, and black dragons.

According to Fa Rong, the founder of the temple, this is a wishing well, 28 feet deep, currently 10 feet deep, mainly for people to draw up holy water or well water as they wish.

He said that this well was a revelation from the Bodhisattva, instructing them to dig this well behind the temple; the well water is very clear.

He claimed that anyone who goes to the Jade Dragon Well Temple, worships the Dragon God, and explains their request for holy water can draw water for washing cars, rinsing flowers, or seeking healing; all requests will be granted.

He emphasized that in the Pasir Gudang area, only the Jade Dragon Well at Ci Tian Temple provides access to natural holy water. Simply pressing a button yields a small bucket of holy water.

To accommodate people with disabilities and those with mobility issues who need to ascend to the third floor for worship, the new Ci Tian Temple in Masei has a small elevator that can accommodate five people at a time. Furthermore, all management spaces within the new temple are accessed via password.

In 2015, the Myanmar National Relic Museum donated a relic (center) to Ci Tian Temple in Masei as a donation. In addition, there are countless relics in front of the reclining Buddha at Ci Tian Temple in Masei.

Masun Citian Temple has always been committed to spreading Buddhism and doing good deeds. Therefore, it often organizes groups to visit nursing homes or schools in various places to do volunteer work. In addition to cooking meals for the elderly, it also donates school bags to primary school students.
